Ngadji Ngadji is a clan of the Noongar Nation

in southwestern Western Australian. The

clan’s country extends from east of Lake

Grace through to Newdegate, Mount Stirling,

Bruce Rock, Kellerberin and Merredin. It

continues west of Jitarning, south to Lake

King and Mount Madden through east to near

Lake Hope and Mount Holland.

There are thought to be 3 dialects in the

Noongar Nation and Ngadji Ngadji belongs to

the southwestern dialect, Djiraly. The people

are mostly non-fluent speakers who have

partial and passive understanding of the

language.

Work on the language’s recording and

analysis for many years, was undertaken by

pastoralists and linguists. Further research

continues to retrieve and develop a substantial

database of the language within all clans of

the Southwest.

Ngadji Ngadji’s AIATSIS code is W41.
