It was an exciting time for the Noongar Boodjar Language Centre to be asked by the Australian Mint to showcase our Noongar word ‘BOYA’ (a common name used for money) on the 50 cent coin along with the other languages that are featured as well.
This was an opportunity for the Noongar community to celebrate the 2019 The International Year of Indigenous Languages with a bang.
